How conventional UT works
An ultrasonic instrument sends high-frequency sound into a component through a probe and couplant. Reflections from interfaces or discontinuities are displayed and interpreted against the examination setup and applicable requirements.
Common ultrasonic inspection needs
Typical needs include weld examination, material thickness measurement, corrosion and remaining-wall assessment, lamination detection, baseline readings and condition monitoring.
Why owners use ultrasonic testing
UT can provide information about conditions below the surface and often requires access from only one side. Results are available during the inspection, supporting timely maintenance and quality decisions.
Technique selection matters
Material grain structure, geometry, thickness, scanning surface and expected flaw orientation influence probe selection and calibration. A clear scope establishes what the examination can reliably answer.
VeriTech UT capability
VeriTech provides Level II conventional UT services for welds and components across Ontario. Equipment verification, examination coverage, observations and results are recorded for traceable reporting.
